In celebration of Mother's Day, the Op-Ed editors over at the New York Times asked six female artists (Ruth Gwily, Nathalie Lete, Collier Schorr, Shary Boyle, Paloma Varga Weisz, and Kara Walker) for portraits of their mothers.
